By widening your network, you will expose to many exiting opportunities. Some opportunities that come your way, were those that you have though of. Networking help to get things done easier, faster and better as you would be able to go through the right channel because of your contacts.

Everyone can learn how to network. There are so many social media these days. The internet makes it easier for you to connect. Your attitude is the ultimate success in building a good network.
1. Be Polite and Nice
The saying “do unto others as you would have done unto you” wouldn’t be famous if it weren’t true. People like to be treated with respect and kindness. You can try putting yourself in another person shoes. By doing that, you get to understand what is expected of you and why that person is behaving that way.
Be generous with your colleagues and your competitors. When people learn that they do well whenever they work with you, they will be more willing to come to you with opportunities.
2. Don’t Be Lazy
Many people are unwilling to invest their time in networking activities. Sadly, excuses like “I’d rather go home and watch the tube” or “I’m very bad at networking, so why bother?” are not new. You learn to make networking a life skill. Besides, you never know whom you’d need one day.
3. Be Giving
Law of attraction practitioners; believe in giving more in order to receive more. There is always a balance between givers and receivers. If you take the initiative to be the first to give, you will ignite the process. Instead of asking, “What benefit will I get from this person?” you should ask yourself, “How can I give value to this person?” People can sense your sincerity, so always ensure that your intentions are good.

4. Be a Happy Person
Think of two people in your life. One who is always happy and positive and the other depressed and negative. Who would you rather hang out with? On days when you’re having the blues, take a break from the social scene. You’re human and sometimes need to be alone.
5. Learn Social Skills
Invest in books on reading body language, building rapport and so on. But knowing the theory is useless unless you put in into practice. So practice, practice and practice.
